The Sports Science Study Program was founded in 1999. With the establishment of this study program, the Faculty of Sports and Health Education (FPOK) changed to the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) and the Padang Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP) changed to Padang State University (UNP). The Sports Science Study Program is under the auspices of the Faculty of Sports Science, Padang State University.
Throughout its journey, the Sports Science Study Program continues to transform into a superior Study Program. This is indicated by the accreditation it has, namely A accreditation in accordance with SK BAN PT 2986/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/V/2021 which was issued on 13-5-2021. This accreditation will end on 13-5-2026.
The Sports Science study program continues to strive to develop itself to become the best study program that produces graduates who are competent in the field of sports analysis and sports practitioners. The Sports Science Study Program is also committed to continuing to improve services so that it will become one of the best destinations for people to continue their education in higher education.
