The Sports Science Study Program was established in 1999. With the establishment of this study program, the Faculty of Sports Education and Health (FPOK) changed to the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) and the Padang Teacher Training and Education Institute (IKIP) changed to Padang State University (UNP). The Sports Science Study Program is under the auspices of the Faculty of Sports Science, Padang State University.
Over the years, the Sports Science Study Program has continued to transform into a leading study program. This is evidenced by its A-level accreditation, as stated in BAN-PT Decree No. 2986/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/V/2021, issued on May 13, 2021. This accreditation will expire on May 13, 2026.
The Sports Science study program continuously strives to develop itself to become a top study program, producing competent graduates in the fields of sports analysis and sports practitioners. The Sports Science study program is also committed to continuously improving its services, making it one of the best destinations for the public to continue their higher education.
